Senior Treasury Role

· Exciting new senior appointment

· Make a significant difference

In this senior finance position, you will join a substantial organisation with a focus on establishing strong links with the community and a culture of excellence, access and opportunity.

This newly created role offers a business-facing position with responsibility for financial leadership in treasury functions in an organisation that has not previously had such a function. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will implement and refine treasury policies, procedures and strategies to support the organisation’s business objectives. Experienced in all aspects of treasury functions, you will drive strong financial control through forecasting, reporting and analysis. With approximately $1 billion to be managed, a key emphasis is minimising cost of funds and maximising returns through effective capital management.

To succeed, you will be a senior finance executive who demonstrates initiative and is focused on achieving results. You will have treasury experience in a large, complex organisation; a thorough understanding of the importance of managing risk; broad industry knowledge; and excellent interpersonal skills. A relevant degree is essential.

As a major employer in the Greater Western Sydney region, one of our client’s missions is to link its activities with the development of the region.

The organisation is poised for further growth and, like the region it serves, is dynamic and enterprising. It is committed to fostering a diverse workplace and community.

Internship Programme

A brand new addition to business education in New Zealand, the Internship Programme offers employers an exciting new business and recruitment tool. You may be used to summer internships - but wouldn't it be great not to lose your intern just when they are really proving their worth? Hire an Otago business intern for six to fifteen months.

Who is an Intern?

All interns have completed two years of their business studies, a rigorous preparation programme and have been selected on qualities such as motivation and attitude. Some employers are concerned they may be too young to be valuable. Our experience to date proves that this is not the case. Our five current interns have consistently proved themselves above and beyond the expectations of their employers. While we take academic grades into account, it is the motivation and attitude of these young people that really sets them apart. In the words of one of our Interns, they are not graduates therefore they do not need a job - they want it, and it is important not to underestimate the value of this difference.

What can they do for me?

We currently have Interns working at KPMG, Ernst and Young, Escea, CRT and the University of Otago. Interns are suited to fulfilling a range of employment needs - from filling a vacant position, to taking on key projects the firm would otherwise not have the resources to undertake, to allowing the business to take careful steps towards expansion, to working across a range of business disciplines as the company requires. It is even possible to hire an Intern in conjunction with another small business to work on a joint project.

Can I hire an intern?

We require employers of Interns to:

  • Have a real business need that an Intern would be suited to filling
  • Hire an Intern for at least six months
  • Have the support structures and processes in place to successfully integrate an Intern into their business

INTERESTED?

We are currently speaking to employers who are interested in hiring an Intern from late October 2010. If you fit the criteria above and would like to find out more about hiring an Intern, we would be delighted to hear from you.
