This is a new position reporting to the Manager Corporate Services and Investments. Your work will contribute to improving the quality and performance of investments under management. Achieving this will involve furthering the development of investment strategy, intelligence and related processes.
You will liaise closely with EQC's investment advisors and provide advice and reporting to the Investment Committee.
Strong communication and relationship-based skills will be critical. you will play a key role in overseeing the relationship with investment managers; ensuring confidence is maintained in the quality of their portfolio management. Equally, you will facilitate robust fund manager selection processes when required as well as advising on issues relating to underperformance.
To be effective in this role you will need to have had exposure to the investment markets, with a broad understanding of best practice portfolio management. Your experience may include an analytical/research grounding with an appreciation of investment trends, standards and research methods. The capacity to 'scan the horizon' to consider emerging investment products would add value, as would prior exposure to outsourced investment management.
