About the business unit

AMP Capital Investors (New Zealand) Limited (‘AMPCINZ’) is an investment management company forming part of the AMP Capital Investors group. AMPCINZ invests in a range of asset classes, including shares, bonds, property, infrastructure and private equity in order to deliver financial solutions to our clients, which include institutions, advisers and personal investors. AMPCINZ offers investment products to the NZ retail market via its subsidiary AMP Investment Management (N.Z) Limited which is a licenced manager under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013.

On 8 July 2021, AMP Group and Macquarie Group announced agreement for Macquarie to acquire AMP Capital’s Global Equity and Fixed Income business which become part of Macquarie’s Asset Management Group (MAM). As a result of this transaction, MAM’s pro-forma assets under management are approximately $A720 billion. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.


Purpose of the role

The key purpose of the role is the provision of compliance assurance and AML/CFT risk management services to AMPCINZ and the funds it manages.


Main focus areas

We are looking for an experienced Compliance and AML/CFT Manager to ensure the organisation effectively manages risk, adheres to regulatory requirements and in-house policies. You will be responsible for enforcing and reporting on relevant regulatory requirements as well as providing guidance on compliance and AML/CFT matters. Interacting with a wide range of business partners, you will play an important role in assisting the business in identifying compliance and AML/CFT risks, assessing adequacy of controls to manage such risks and contributing to the continual improvement of processes.


A great Compliance and AML/CFT Manager is well-versed in risk management, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance best practices. They are professionals of high ethical standards and work diligently to complete their duties keeping in mind the objectives of the business. You must be comfortable saying “no” when necessary and be result-oriented. The goal is to preserve the company’s integrity by making sure it stays on a lawful and ethical course.
