The NZ Equities team is part of the Direct Investments team, with responsibility for managing the NZ Equities portfolio under the NZ Active Equities Mandate. The NZ Equities team allocates capital to listed investments across the NZX50, through active stock selection, capitalising on the fund's endowments and unique position as a sovereign wealth fund.

In accordance with the Guardians fundamental approach to investing, this opportunity requires an investment professional with a refined research and analytical skill set. Applications are encouraged from candidates from buy-side or sell-side research, portfolio construction and management, investment strategy or investment consulting, with listed equities experience. Tertiary qualified, a CFA or post graduate designation will be viewed as highly favourable.
You will display conviction in your ideas, with the communication skills to engage in constructive debate and discussion with internal stakeholders. Your leadership and management credentials will be evident, with experience leading, mentoring, and developing direct reports to outperform.
As the lead external representative and champion for the Guardian's listed domestic investment activities, you will be experienced in developing and maintaining relationships with relevant networks.
