As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG), you will play a key leadership role in providing high level strategic advice to the Auditor-General and the wider organisation around best proactive financial strategies, policies, systems, and processes. The CFO will lead a well-established and high performing team, responsible for high quality professional finance advice. The role is located in the Corporate Services Team which also covers People and Capability, Information Services, Security and Risk, and Administration. Over the next few years, there will be a number of exciting, longer-term strategic projects within the organisation that the CFO will play a critical role in overseeing. There is significant scope to streamline and create efficiencies, driving outcomes and performance. Finally, the role will enjoy influence and will actively meet with the Leadership Team as well as regular meetings with the Auditor-General and Deputy Auditor-General.
To be successful in this role, you'll be a respected and inspiring leader, someone with a track record of building high level internal capability in those around you. You could currently be in a Financial Manager or Controller role and you are looking to progress your career in a more senior role with influence. There is a real opportunity for wider engagement across the business and this would suit someone that is a proven relationship builder and collaborator, someone that can break down silos and increase organisational engagement. It is critical the CFO has the trust and confidence of the Auditor-General, and the Audit New Zealand and OAG Leadership Teams. Finally, you'll have deep technical experience as a Chartered Accountant, an extensive background of providing Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Treasury Management, Revenue Forecasting, and general accounting services that maximise the prudent and effective use of financial resources and capability.
