    The role

    The role of Senior Unit Pricing Analyst is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and diverse team providing Unit Pricing.

    Unit Pricing is one of the key foundations of the MMC business and is now working with over 30 fund managers across several different investment models, including eight KiwiSaver schemes and produces 250+ prices per day.

    The Unit Pricing team work closely across all functions including the Operations team, Technology and Business Analysts. One of our core values is “Restless to Improve” and there is a real opportunity to influence and have an impact on how we do things.

     

    Key responsibilities

    Unit Pricing & Reporting:

    • Prepare and review the unit prices of our client’s investment funds, including the analysis of inputs to unit pricing and investigation of unexplained variance.
    • Prepare and review the taxable income of our clients’ investment funds.
    • Review daily reconciliations, investigating and clearing differences in a timely manner.
    • Annual financial statements – assist in the preparation of client annual financial statements that are compliant with NZ GAAP and NZ IFRS.
    • Assist with the preparation and review of performance reporting and other reporting as required.

    Controls & Audit:

    • Contribute to the design and implementation of controls and processes that maintains a strong control environment and industry best practice.
    • Assist the team with supporting the controls assurance and financial statement audits.

    Client Centric:

    • Support the team in ensuring all service delivery standards set for the unit pricing division are met.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients including providing timely responses to queries.

    Leadership & Teamwork:

    • Identify and implement process changes to improve efficiency within the team.
    • Cross-train with other team members and seek to grow and share your knowledge of Fund Administration.
    • Be a team player who is prepared to assist others when required.

     

    About you

    You are driven by your hunger to understand how things work and why they work the way they do, with a real problem-solving mindset and a desire to understand the end-to-end process. This level of understanding you build, gives you the confidence to apply your good judgement to key decisions and take on the responsibility required. This drive also feeds your desire to identify areas for improvement and implement changes. You have a great aptitude for and love working with numbers. A deadline driven environment is where you thrive, and you enjoy pulling together with a team, jumping in to support others if needed, where the team achieve together.

    This role would ideally suit someone with a degree majoring in Economics, Finance or Accounting preferred, but we will consider others.

    You will also need to be confident and experienced in the use of Excel, modelling and programming.

    The ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task and remain agile are also critical elements of this role.
