Surveillance Analyst

Joining our hardworking Surveillance team, you will be responsible for monitoring our regulated securities and derivatives market, insuring the integrity of our systems and squashing rule/law-breakers in their tracks. We will be relying on YOU to help make sure our markets are safe and secure for everyone.


We're looking for someone to work full-time in an analyst role on a six week rotation changing between working hours of 6:30am to 3:30pm, 8:30am to 5:30pm and 2:30pm to 10:30pm. The role requires working in a role outside of regular business hours and at times on your own.

Analysing real-time and historical data, you will be identifying and investigating instances of insider trading, market manipulation, breaches, anomalies and complaints. Using your exceptional communication skills, you will draft referrals, act as a key point for market participants and traders, and respond to information requests from regulatory bodies, NZX Regulation and the FMA.


Your portfolio of talents will include but not be limited to:

  • Preferably at least 2 years' exposure to a capital market or securities/ derivatives trading environment
  • Knowledge of common capital markets structures and terminology
  • Knowledge of a NZ capital market regulatory environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a robust personality and an ability to influence
