Te tūranga - The role

The Dealing Support Officer is responsible for supporting the Portfolio Management team to achieve the Department's policy goals. You'll assist with the completion and post-trade requirements of transactions across a range of markets and products, and present and publish regular reporting on market activities.

You'll regularly review all counterparties to ensure they are set up accurately in our book of records and ensure they are adhering to the Bank's membership attestation. You will work closely with our Risk, Treasury, and Settlements teams to on-board new counterparties.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Relevant industry experience in a similar role within the financial services sector
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, business and/or economics
  • An understanding of how derivatives and markets work is desirable
  • A positive attitude and be eager to expand on your understanding of interest rates and/or FX
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg, NZClear or FINDUR
  • Strong attention to detail and numeracy skills
  • Effective relationship management skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with others at the Bank, as well as with external counterparts
  • Show initiative, take an active approach to problem solving and display high integrity and sound professional judgement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
