An exciting opportunity exists for an energetic Senior Advisor - Strategy, Planning and Performance to join our new Governance and Accountability team. Being a new team, you will help to shape the work we do and how we work as a team.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the development and production of the Treasury's external accountability documents
  • Develop and co-coordinate internal and external performance reporting
  • Work on an integrated organisation-wide strategic planning and reporting process
  • Provide original thinking, anticipate future issues, challenge the status quo
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the Treasury
  • Contribute to wider team priorities, including internal governance processes and organisation-wide matters of importance.

In this role you will need an understanding of the machinery of government and familiarity with the Public Finance Act. You will bring your experience in providing quality advice to support delivery of the organisational strategy, accountability frameworks, planning and internal governance structures. You will be highly creative, efficient, passionate and able to flex to a changing environment.

You will also bring :

  • In depth understanding and demonstrated experience in the Public Sector accountability cycle
  • Experience in developing strategy, planning and performance reporting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • First-rate communication and relationship management skills and credibility to engage with and influence senior decision makers
  • Experience with work programme coordination and working with Boards or other governance structures (desirable but not essential).
