Head of Risk and Compliance (Pacific)

Right now an outstanding opportunity exists for a Head of Risk and Compliance (Pacific) to join our Risk team. We are looking for someone who is brave and creative in finding solutions, and has the drive to get things done.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, the successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • working with the Chief Risk Officer and Head or Risk and Compliance (NZ) to provide strategic oversight and management of the risk and compliance function
  • enhancing and maintaining the framework for internal and external controls across the Tower Pacific Business
  • working with Tower's Pacific operations to meet the increasing demands and expectations of local regulators
  • overseeing the work of the Fiji Risk and Compliance Manager who has oversight of the Tower Fiji subsidiary and Pacific Operations Hub.

You will be a key part in ensuring that Tower's Pacific Directors and people act in a way that meets our customer and stakeholder standards for quality. You will help ensure we are compliant with regulations, company policies and procedures as well as our Code of Conduct. We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • prior experience in a risk role, ideally in the insurance industry
  • knowledge of organisations' operating activities, financial systems, controls and computer based risk analytics
  • ideally at least five years risk management experience preferred in addition to knowledge or qualifications
  • excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders and partners.
