As a Business Development Manager, you will be key in working with stakeholders across business teams, technology teams, suppliers, and most importantly clients.

Opportunity

The primary purpose of the position is to identify, position, engage and convert new business opportunities for TEL in line with the organisation's strategic priorities.

Based in Auckland, this is an exciting new role that presents a chance for someone to make it their own.

Your role may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Actively maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential clients, financial intermediaries and professional advisers aligned with TEL strategic and operational priorities
  • Actively prospect for new business within target markets, present comprehensive proposals and convert opportunities into new business, with minimal supervision
  • Manage time effectively to deliver sales targets and new client acquisition
  • Completing RFP's and new business proposals to the highest possible standards and ensuring that the pitches for new business are professional and in line with TEL values
  • Convey TEL's vision and strategy effectively to key stakeholders
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts of sales opportunities and business development plans in a timely manner

About you

You will be an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong technology background and the following:

  • Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Five or more years experience in a business-to-business sales or marketing environment within the financial services industry.
  • Experience with new business prospecting, lead generation, proposals, lead conversation and client acquisition.
  • An expert knowledge of the NZ Funds Management Industry.
  • Negotiating skills - can negotiate skillfully with both internal and external groups; can win concessions without damaging relationships and quickly gain trust of other parties to the negotiations.
  • Excellent time management and workload prioritisation skills.
  • A reputation in the market as a high achieving salesperson. Proven consistency in meeting deadlines and managing deliverables across multiple workstreams
