Head of Corporate


About the role:  

Reporting directly to the GM, IBB you will have full accountability for the performance of the Corporate portfolio and its people – customer experience, NPS, CVP, People Experience, Engagement and EVP. You will also be tasked with developing and delivering the IBB Corporate strategy, including growing market share and maximising operational efficiencies and digitisation.


There are 5 core pillars in this role:

  • Strategy and Continuous Improvement - develop and implement the channel and distribution strategy to enhance the banking experience for Corporate customers
  • Project Management and Stakeholder engagement - ensure the Corporate strategy and operating model review project stays on track, keeping various stakeholders updated on progress
  • Leadership - attract and retain world-class talent and build a highly capable cross functional team with strong diversity of thought.
  • Risk Management - lead and drive risk management to ensure all risk is well managed for the customer channels.
  • Industry and Community Influence - build and maintain industry contacts and represent Westpac to remain up to date with the latest developments and innovations in banking.


What will I need to succeed?

Expert knowledge of the financial services industry, with particular depth in the Business and Corporate banking sector is critical in this role. You will possess a strong understanding of consumer-based industries and the key drivers of success with demonstrated understanding of the operational, commercial and business issues in the industry and the expertise to drive strong commercial outcomes.

Deep balance sheet instincts and understanding of how to mobilise a large workforce to achieve customer and bank outcomes with the ability to recognise areas of opportunity. You will possess deep credit and credit risk understanding combined with demonstrated success leading engagement and cultural transformation and driving major change.

You will bring ten plus years’ of experience in people management and leadership within large and complex organisations and the ability to work with the highest level of senior stakeholder management. You will possess a tertiary qualification and an MBA is desirable.
