Financial Modelling 101
This course has been designed to provide participants with an introduction to financial modelling. The course will be hands on and participants will be introduced to the tools and techniques for designing and developing a financial model for a business.

Learn about:
- Interpreting a company’s historical financial statements
- Developing a financial model to forecast a company’s financial performance
- How to analyse the financial forecasts
- identifying and assessing financial risks
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Anyone who wants to develop skills in projecting and analysing a company’s financial performance. Participants should have basic Excel skills and some familiarity with reading financial statements. The target audience includes non-specialists such as new business unit leaders and bankers.
CONTENT
The course will provide a hands-on introduction to developing a financial model for a business.
The course will be based on four modules over two days as follows –
- Creating the structure: entering the company’s historical financial statements in an Excel workbook.
- Financial statement analysis: interpreting the historical data and undertaking financial ratio calculations as a basis for producing the forecasts.
- Preparing pro-forma financial statements: projecting the company’s financial statements forward over the next three to five years.
- High-level analysis of the results: pro-forma financial ratio and risk analysis.
