We're looking for an exceptional Head of Policy and Governance to lead and champion the work of our highly skilled, experienced, and hard-working Policy and Governance team, which delivers pragmatic and high quality legal and policy advice to help the FMA to achieve our objectives of promoting and facilitating the development of fair, efficient and transparent markets.
You'll lead the teams that are responsible for formulating and delivering regulatory policy advice to the FMA and its Government stakeholders; and for providing governance support and advice to the FMA, including Board support, contract management, and Privacy Act and Official Information Act compliance.
You'll have input into key projects and initiatives including supporting the General Counsel in providing proactive identification, analysis and reporting on issues critical to the overall success of the FMA. You'll be responsible for delivery of well researched and effective advice and recommendations to assist the Chief Executive, FMA Board and Executive Committee in their strategic and operational management of the FMA.
To succeed in this role, you'll have significant experience in leading and supporting policy and legal teams. A good understanding of the regulatory environment as well as the government sector is expected. Experience in governance, the financial sector and with financial markets will be a definite advantage. You'll be an experienced people leader accustomed to managing teams and coaching for performance. You'll also be an expert relationship manager, capable of building and maintaining relationships across all levels of an organisation and externally.
