Want to work in an organisation that is using cutting edge agricultural technology to improve performance as well as environmental outcomes? Are you looking for a partnering role with variety? If you are smart, curious, and want to make a significant difference to our business units while also positively impacting New Zealand, our Finance Business Partner role could be right for you.
We have listened to the feedback from our internal business units and have created two Finance Business Partner roles to help them improve performance and efficiency. Our roles are unique in that they focus on partnering with our Wellington as well as our nationally dispersed farm teams and across an array of specialties.
One role focuses on our Dairy portfolio that is production / process oriented and spans farm systems that are quite as complex as they are diverse - from deer milk to sheep milk to cow milk to organic milk. Our scale lends itself to leading the way in the ag industry with various pilot programmes that are spread throughout the country, and you'll help determine feasibility and cost/benefit analysis of these. As the Finance Business Partner for Dairy, you'll become a trusted advisor to our General Manager and Senior Business Managers and their teams throughout the country. One day you'll be partnering with our dairy team on financial planning and the next you'll be on-farm evaluating financial results from a pilot programme with our farm managers. You'll be adept at translating finance and technical terms to our farm teams and help them understand the "why" behind our processes. You'll be involved in some really cool farm tech and learn the ins and outs of one of the most important sectors to New Zealand.
Our other Finance Business Partner role focuses on the Livestock, Forestry and Horticulture portfolios. The sheer variety that you'll be exposed to in this role makes it unique. We farm sheep, cattle and deer, and are transitioning to become a "land use" organisation, which means that we're actively exploring forestry and horticulture opportunities nationwide. One day you'll be digging into the numbers with our livestock team and the next you'll be writing up a business case for an avocado orchard. You'll learn how all of our businesses work together and complement each other. You'll be adept at translating finance and technical terms to our farm teams and help them understand the "why" behind our processes. Your curiosity will serve you well here as you'll be exposed to an array of farm systems and will partner with our managers ensure that they understand their numbers well enough to make strong decisions around performance improvement.
These roles will have a high profile in the business and will become important leaders within finance and amongst our teams.
