Te tūranga - The role

We are recruiting for an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join the newly formed Money and Cash Policy team. Our focus is on delivering clear and effective policies that support the New Zealand money and cash system. You'll complete high quality research, analysis and policy development in the following areas:

  • Cash system design and stewardship
  • Broader developments in alternative forms of payment and financial innovation in money; including private sector digital currency (stablecoins, crypto currencies etc.) and Central Bank Digital Currency
  • Associated legislation and regulatory requirements

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A strong background in economic analysis (or relevant disciplines) and/or policy making
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to deliver insights to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong influencing skills, and the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
  • An interest in Fintech and digital innovation
