About The Role
The Head of Sustainable Strategy and Planning is a senior strategic management and enterprise leadership position. Its purpose is to lead the policy and planning function and associated strategy; support the business strategy framework; and lead the approach to environment, social and corporate governance. The role provides high quality analysis and advice to the business, Executive Management Team and Board on the risks and opportunities associated with planning and policy. Developing and maintaining key relationships with regulators, government and industry stakeholders is a key purpose of the role.
Mercury Enterprise Leaders are a group of senior influencers who are accountable for driving/executing strategic business plans and direction - championing and leading change within a collaborative community. As an Enterprise Leader you will contribute by actively supporting the development of high-performance teams and achievement of Mercury's strategic objectives.
To be successful in the role you will be a senior leader with at least 8 years’ experience with high expertise in planning and policy. You will have high proficiency with the RMA, partnership, negotiations and navigating an organisation at a senior level toward more sustainable outcomes. The person we are looking for would be a source of foresight, a warm and accomplished leader of staff, and have a high capacity for work and complexity. The role is a critical support to the direction of the company at Management team and Board levels so needs to have a credibility in their past track record and in the level of expertise they bring. The person would also be experienced in negotiations and forming iwi partnerships.
