Westpac is a strong and trusted brand, having operated in the New Zealand market since 1861. Our team of more than 4000 employees is dedicated to meeting the needs of more than 1.3 million customers across households, business and Government.
How will you help?
This newly created Media Relations Adviser role reports to the Senior Manager External Communications. The person in this role will liaise with media to help communicate what we do at Westpac.
You will interpret complex information from across the bank and make it available to media and other external stakeholders, communicating quickly, accurately and concisely in written and verbal formats.
It's therefore crucial that you can produce well-written copy that is appropriate to the audience and effectively distils complex issues. You'll also provide a point of contact for initial media enquiries and identify appropriate Westpac NZ spokespeople as required.
This role isn't purely reactive though - you'll get to work across the business to identify opportunities for proactive media and social media coverage, contributing to growing the profile of Westpac NZ.
