We are seeking a CFO to lead the NZ Finance function, work directly with the NZ ELT and Regional CFO at a time of significant transformation and change.

This role is well suited to an entry level CFO or senior finance leader (e.g. Head of Finance, FP&A or Commercial Finance leader) ready to step into their first CFO position, with the energy and appetite to shape a business navigating complexity, regulatory change and evolving market conditions.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and trusted advice to the CEO and senior leadership to build business direction, performance and resource decisions.
  • Partner with the Executive team to drive transformation and growth, including revenue strategy, operating model evolution, and digital initiatives.
  • Lead the development of clear, insight driven reporting, dashboards and KPIs that support executive prioritisation, performance management and timely decision making.
  • Embed strong financial management disciplines, controls and mindsets across the business to support strategic outcomes, cost discipline and margin improvement.
  • Drive commercially focused investment decisions through sharp business case development, scenario analysis and clear articulation of value, trade-offs and returns.
  • Partner with the business to balance risk and opportunity, tracking post investment outcomes and translating insights into continuous improvement and smarter future decisions.
  • Drive Regional and Global priorities locally, collaborating closely with the business on revenue growth, margin improvement and value creating initiatives (including M&A where relevant).
  • Act as the key commercial link between New Zealand and Regional/Global Finance, ensuring alignment while constructively challenging, influencing and translating strategy into local impact.
  • Lead delivery of financial outcomes through strong planning, forecasting and performance management, ensuring results align with strategy, transformation priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the annual financial plan and multiyear outlook, clearly linking strategy, investment choices and resource allocation to business outcomes.
  • Build and lead a high performing, inclusive Finance team, strengthening capability, insight and delivery while embedding modern finance, data and technology practices.
  • Partner closely with Regional Finance and enterprise teams (including Controllership and Operations) to drive end-to-end efficiency, ongoing improvement and shared guideline.
How will this role be different?
  • Planning, Financial Analysis and Implementation in partnership with Asia Pacific CFO and the New Zealand Executive Leadership team to develop strategic plans and conduct business analysis to support corporate objectives.
  • Drive Financial Excellence. Enable colleagues to deliver value to clients by bringing to bear financial capabilities to build capacity for our colleagues that are leading client portfolios. In addition, deliver controls around cash management.
  • Lead Risk & Colleague Welfare. Administer and drive a strong risk management culture, framework, and reporting structure.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a CFO in a smaller organisation, or in a senior finance leadership role (e.g. Head of Finance, Head of FP&A, or Commercial Finance Leader) within a global or highly complex organisation
  • Commercial and business driven mentality with high level of accountability for efficiency and client satisfaction
  • Proven experience with AI, automation or process digitisation, and the ability to apply those findings to drive practical improvements in a new environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with capability to interact with internal clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships at a most senior level.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills; able to multi-task and lead projects and direct reports
  • Ability to drive teams to deliver the highest in service, quality, and results.
  • Ability to adopt and inspire change in support of the business unit’s and company’s goals.
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound business decisions.
  • Known problem-solver who anticipates issues and suggests creative solutions.
