Te mahi | The role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Funding, you’ll support the design, maintenance and execution of ASB’s wholesale funding programmes. This is a commercially focused role operating at the intersection of financial markets, regulation and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll work closely with internal partners and external counterparts to ensure funding programmes remain execution-ready, compliant and aligned to ASB’s broader Treasury and balance sheet strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the design, maintenance and ongoing integrity of ASB’s wholesale funding programmes and associated documentation
• Assisting with the execution of wholesale funding transactions, including documentation
• Providing market insight and sound judgement to inform funding strategy, execution timing and transaction structure
• Engaging with key external stakeholders, including bank counterparties, legal advisers and rating agencies
• Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements
• Supporting Treasury leadership through analysis, advice and contribution to broader balance sheet and funding initiatives

You’ll bring prior experience in wholesale funding, financial markets or banking, along with a strong grasp of the regulatory and legal environment.

We’re looking for someone who can operate confidently in time‑critical, high‑trust settings and build credibility with senior stakeholders.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Experience in wholesale funding, financial markets or banking, with sound legal and regulatory understanding
• The ability to exercise judgement in fast-paced environments and manage complex stakeholder relationships
• Understanding of funding structures, risk management and financial services regulation
• Strong capability interpreting legislation and regulatory expectations and translating implications for the business
• High standards of professionalism, communication and commercial pragmatism
• A collaborative, outcomes-focused approach with the ability to influence and deliver through others
