We're looking for an experienced candidate to join our Auckland-based Strategy, Risk and Transactions team within the Valuations offering.

The Team You'll Join: You'll join a market-leading transactions practice that offers a supportive environment and culture designed to help you achieve your career goals.

Our Transactions team comprises highly skilled professionals providing extensive support in financial due diligence, M&A advisory, debt advisory, turnaround and restructuring, as well as valuations and modelling. We pride ourselves on our forward-thinking, proactive approach, consistently delivering innovative solutions to our clients.

The impact you'll make: Your role involves supporting complex client transactions by leveraging your analytical skills to offer strategic recommendations. You'll collaborate with team members, partners, and clients while also working independently. Your keen analytical abilities and attention to detail are crucial for identifying risks and opportunities and delivering valuable insights. Your Typical Day Will Include:
  • Working on diverse projects including valuing businesses, equity interests, financial instruments, and intangible assets. Your insights will shape decisions across transactions, tax, financial reporting, employee share schemes, and dispute resolution.
  • Building and delivering valuation models and reports that tell the story behind the numbers. You’ll analyse value drivers, industry trends, market benchmarks, and cost of capital, while identifying opportunities for strategic growth and capital optimisation.
  • Bringing a critical eye to complex issues, offering clear, practical strategies that make a real impact.
  • Sharing your knowledge by coaching junior team members, helping them develop technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications Your expertise: Bring your strategic thinking and valuations expertise and see what impact you could make. You'll also have:

  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in a professional services firm, investment bank, or similar environment, with expertise in Valuations or Corporate Finance.
  • Chartered accountant (CA) qualification or chartered financial analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Commercial problem solving capabilities with advanced Excel skills, adept at analysing complex datasets to extract valuable insights.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and preparing financial documents, such as due diligence reports and client presentations.
  • Strategic thinker capable of seeing the bigger picture, identifying problems and opportunities, and developing creative solutions aligned with overarching tasks.
  • Proven project management skills, ensuring delivery within set timelines.
  • Ability to mentor and lead junior team members while collaborating effectively with the broader team on client engagements.
  • Agile and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex financial concepts and presenting findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
