Te Tūranga | The Role

Join us as the Manager, Investor Information, where you'll lead a specialist team responsible for helping ensure New Zealanders receive clear, accurate and meaningful information when making financial decisions.

This team plays a critical role in identifying and assessing risks and potential harms across a wide range of investor and consumer information sources, from product disclosure statements through to websites, advertising and social media content.

As Manager, you’ll support the team, provide technical leadership, set direction and oversee the delivery of high-quality regulatory outcomes across a broad and evolving portfolio of work. You'll also have the opportunity to shape the future direction of the team as it expands its focus across wider financial markets.

Your mahi will include but not limited to:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing team of investor information specialists.
  • Allocating work, providing quality oversight and ensuring consistency across regulatory activities.
  • Identifying and assessing risks and potential harms arising from investor and consumer information.
  • Providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior leaders on complex regulatory matters.
  • Working collaboratively across the FMA to deliver coordinated and effective regulatory responses.
  • Engaging with industry and contributing to regulatory guidance that supports better market outcomes.

He kōrero mōu | About you

We’re looking for a confident people leader or highly experienced technical specialist ready to step into a leadership role. You'll bring experience reviewing and interpreting complex information, whether from a regulatory, policy, legal, risk, compliance or financial services environment. You're able to quickly get to the heart of an issue, apply sound judgement, and translate complexity into clear, practical outcomes.

You'll also bring:

  • Experience leading people, projects or complex pieces of work.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capability.
  • The ability to interpret complex or ambiguous information and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to work across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in financial services being advantageous, but not essential.
