About the Opportunity | Mō te Whai Wāhi
We’re looking for an Investment Operations Analyst to join our Harbour Investment Operations Team.
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this role provides middle office support across a broad range of operational functions spanning equities, fixed interest, global and multi-asset portfolios, as well as client reporting.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a keen eye for detail, and is looking to further develop their investment operations knowledge within a high-performing funds management environment. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of asset classes and operational activities while working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi
- Perform cash management and manage post-trade activities across portfolios across various asset classes.
- Conduct currency exposure and hedge ratio checks on global equity portfolios.
- Perform reconciliations between holdings on Bloomberg AIM and data from outsourced custody and investment accounting providers.
- Assist in the management of operational activities for private asset classes.
- Support daily matching of New Zealand and Australian market trades.
- Assist in the preparation of fund performance information and data for monthly and quarterly reporting.
- Support monthly operational activities across multiple asset classes.
- Assist with the setup of new Multi Asset Clients, Individually Managed Accounts, fund mandates and external managers.
- Contribute to Investment Operations and wider business project initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Maintain operational excellence through a strong focus on accuracy, risk management and process integrity.
- Complete ad hoc operational tasks as required.

Knowledge and Experience
- Strong financial literacy, ideally supported by tertiary study in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Accounting.
- Understanding of the New Zealand managed funds industry, including investment products and securities.
- Knowledge of middle office and back office investment operations functions would be advantageous.
- Experience using Bloomberg or similar investment systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
