The Role As Head of Commercial, in collaboration with the business you’ll design and execute commercial strategies that drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence across the whole business.

Reporting to the CFO, you’ll lead a team of commercial specialists and work closely with a variety of teams to develop, negotiate, and manage customer and partner contracts that deliver value for both Bluecurrent and its clients.

This is a pivotal leadership role — balancing strategic insight with hands-on commercial management to ensure the business continues to thrive in a dynamic and evolving energy market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with organisational goals
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with key customers and partners to drive revenue
  • Drive commercial excellence by optimising pricing, terms, and contract management processes
  • Analyse market trends, pricing strategies, and emerging opportunities to enhance performance
  • Collaborate across the business to ensure commercial initiatives support financial and operational objectives
  • Continuously evolve commercial processes and implement tools to streamline workflows and reporting
  • Lead and mentor a team of commercial specialists
Skills & Experience You’re a commercially astute leader with a track record of driving value through smart negotiation, sound strategy, and strong stakeholder engagement. You can move seamlessly between detail and strategy. Some of your expertise will include;

  • You will be financially literate – likely to have had an early career in accounting or finance
  • Proven experience in senior commercial manager roles
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to manage complex, high-value contracts
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship management skills
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance commercial outcomes and customer needs
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience in the energy industry will be advantageous, but not essential
  • Experience in large data driven, B2B environments will be preferred
