We’re seeking an experienced Finance Business Analyst to play a critical role in delivering high‑quality financial insight, management accounting, and investment analysis across our development and operational portfolio.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the HCP CFO, this role blends hands‑on management accounting with strategic finance support. You’ll be responsible for accurate, timely reporting across multiple entities while also contributing to funding strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and investment analysis for housing projects that deliver measurable social outcomes.

This is a role for someone who enjoys complexity, takes ownership, and can move confidently between detailed financial work and big‑picture thinking.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Management reporting & accounts

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts across Development LPs, Operational LPs, GP entities, and the Due Diligence Fund

  • Deliver P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations

  • Provide clear variance analysis and commentary for governance and management audiences

Payables, receivables & GST

  • Support AP/AR processing across multiple entity types

  • Coordinate lender drawdowns and maintain audit‑ready documentation

  • Prepare and file accurate GST returns in line with IRD requirements

Board, investor & group reporting

  • Produce monthly and quarterly reporting packs aligned to agreed finance timetables

  • Assist with investor reporting and group‑level consolidated reporting

  • Support project funding strategies through updated cashflow forecasts and financial inputs

Audit, compliance & year‑end

  • Lead preparation of year‑end audit materials and liaise with external auditors

  • Support project financial close‑out reporting for completed developments

Funding, forecasting & analysis

  • Support funding and financing assessments across development and operational projects

  • Contribute to budgets, re‑forecasts, and financial models underpinning investment decisions

  • Provide insight into capital allocation, liquidity, and balance‑sheet capacity

Leadership & improvement

  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance and support to Accounts Assistants

  • Improve finance systems, workflows, and reporting automation

  • Build financial capability across non‑finance teams through clear communication


ABOUT YOU

You’re an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a multi‑entity environment and wants their work to have purpose.

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting or management accounting roles

  • Strong capability in month‑end close, management accounts, GST, and AP/AR

  • Experience working across multiple entities and inter‑company transactions

  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines consistently

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence with accounting systems

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in housing, development, construction, or community sectors

  • Familiarity with PBE standards and charity reporting

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior finance staff
