Job description
Established in 2010, Mainland Capital is a leading real estate funds management company specialising in diverse property assets including office, retail, industrial, self-storage, healthcare, hotels, and land development.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business at the centre of fund performance, capital raising and investment strategy where you will be working directly with the Head of Capital and Partnerships, the Board and Investment Committees.

As Senior Analyst, you will take ownership of the financial analysis underpinning Mainland's funds, from modelling, forecasting and fund returns through to the research and strategy work that informs transaction and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the drafting of board and investor materials, bringing commentary and recommendations;
  • Support the wider team in acquisitions, capital raising and debt strategy, engaging directly with lenders and external advisors;
  • Set the standard for best financial practice across the business and will seek out to improve models, and templates.;
  • Own fund and asset-level financial models supporting performance tracking, forecasting, feasibility analysis, DCF and IRR;
  • Lead the calculation and review of fund returns and performance fees;
  • Drive board and investor reporting, monitoring fund metrics (IRR, distributions, leverage, hedging) and translating them into insight and recommendations;
  • Prepare deal-level strategy papers to support decision-making by the Fund Manager;
  • Lead debt strategy analysis;
  • Own transaction due diligence from a financial and compliance perspective;
  • Partner with the accounting team on budgeting, management reporting and cost control;
  • Research real estate and capital markets trends; and
  • Lead periodic benchmarking of asset and fund performance against market peers.
You will have:
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, including advanced DCF and IRR analysis;
  • Sound knowledge of fund structures and debt/equity instruments, including syndicated debt and hedging arrangements;
  • Proven experience leading transaction workstreams independently, from due diligence through to Board and Investment Committee recommendation;
  • Confident stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with the Board, Investment Committee and external advisors;
  • High attention to detail, with clear written and verbal communication; and
  • A collaborative and positive attitude.
