Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Multiple Positions

School of Accountancy, Economics and Finance Auckland

The School of Accountancy, Economics and Finance invites applications for multiple full-time appointments at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level. We are a multidisciplinary School seeking colleagues with a range of complementary expertise across Accounting, Economics, Analytics, Finance and Financial Technology.

The roles

We have three academic positions available and are seeking candidates with expertise across the following discipline areas:

  • Accounting
  • Economics
  • Analytics
  • Finance
  • Financial Technology

Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to contribute to teaching and research in at least two of these disciplines. Applicants should identify their primary and additional areas of expertise and provide evidence of their capacity to contribute across them. Appointment level will reflect qualifications, experience and achievements.

You will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contribute to curriculum development, supervise postgraduate research as appropriate to your experience, and pursue an active research agenda. You will also contribute to the service activities of the School and collaborate with colleagues across disciplines.

About you

Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline. Candidates nearing completion may be considered at Lecturer level. You will bring strong communication skills, a collegial approach, and a commitment to effective, inclusive teaching for a diverse student body.

For appointment at Lecturer level, we seek clear evidence of research potential and the capacity to develop as an effective university teacher. For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, we seek an established record of research publications and effective teaching, together with evidence of contribution to academic service, supervision or leadership appropriate to the level.

University teaching experience and publications in journals listed in the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) Journal Quality List are desirable. Research achievements will be considered relative to career stage and discipline, including quality publications in other relevant outlets. Experience in postgraduate supervision, industry engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, or online and blended teaching would also be valued.
