About the opportunity
The Operations Analyst plays a critical role in the smooth running of New Zealand's capital markets. This role is responsible for processing market announcements during trading hours, creating and maintaining instruments, implementing corporate actions, and managing operational incidents as they arise.
Working closely with listed issuers, share registries, and internal teams across Technology, Regulation, and Capital Markets, the Operations Analyst ensures that issuer and instrument data is accurate, complete, and reflected correctly across NZX systems. The role also contributes to testing, documentation, and process improvement initiatives that support the ongoing evolution of our market infrastructure.

Key responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day NZX market operations, managing operational processes, market announcements and stakeholder relationships.
  • Process live market announcements, maintain issuer data, implement trading halts and monitor market events.
  • Create and maintain instruments, implement corporate actions, and ensure issuer information is accurate and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve operational incidents, identify root causes, and escalate issues in accordance with established procedures.
  • Participate in testing, maintain operational documentation, and contribute to process, control and system improvements.
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of tasks and issues through to resolution.

DESIRABLE
  • Experience in an operational, administrative, customer service, or financial services environment, ideally with exposure to markets, listed companies, financial products, or corporate actions.
  • Familiarity with operational systems and databases, along with exposure to testing, process improvement, change initiatives, or regulated environments involving risk and compliance.
  • Knowledge of NZX markets, financial market infrastructure, or exchange operations.
