About the role
This is a high-visibility, relationship-led role for a commercially sharp professional who knows the financial adviser landscape and has the networks to prove it. You will own the growth of adviser and referral partner channels – identifying, engaging and onboarding new financial adviser firms, adviser networks, and professional referral partners across New Zealand.
This is a genuine hunter role. You will build pipeline, represent Pie Funds at industry events, and position the firm as the preferred investment partner for advisers operating across wealth, insurance and mortgages.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to grow Pie Funds’ adviser, referral and direct client distribution channels
- Identify, engage and onboard new financial adviser firms and adviser networks
- Build and maintain strong relationships with accountants, lawyers and professional referral partners
- Manage an active pipeline of prospective advisers, referral partners and direct clients
- Represent Pie Funds at industry events and professional networking forums
- Educate partners and clients on Pie Funds’ investment philosophy and product suite
- Provide market insights and feedback to inform distribution strategy
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers to ensure referrals and client opportunities are managed effectively
Key attributes needed
- Proven experience in business development, distribution or relationship management within financial services
- Existing contacts across the NZ financial adviser community – wealth, insurance and/or mortgages essential
- Strong understanding of investment products, KiwiSaver, and long-term investing principles
- A natural networker and hunter with a track record of pipeline development and new client acquisition
- Polished communicator with the presence and commercial acumen to engage at a senior level
- NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – Investment Strand, or progress toward obtaining the qualification, preferred.
