About the Role
Based in Tauranga, this is a key Senior Leadership role within a business operating across the North Island, employing around 100 staff, growing to 200 during peak projects.
As our Finance Manager, you'll lead the finance function while partnering with the leadership team to provide strategic financial direction, commercial insight, and strong financial governance. This is a hands-on role where you'll help drive business performance and support a company known for delivering quality outcomes to some of New Zealand's leading commercial and industrial clients.
What You'll Be Responsible For

Leading all financial operations, reporting, and compliance.

Preparing monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis.

Providing commercial advice and strategic financial insights to the leadership team.

Managing financial controls, risk, and governance.

Overseeing payroll, accounts, tax obligations, and statutory reporting.

Driving continuous improvement across financial systems and processes.

Supporting business growth through sound financial planning and decision-making.

Mentoring and developing finance team members while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
About You
You're a confident finance leader who combines technical expertise with commercial acumen and exceptional people skills.
You'll bring:

Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification or equivalent.

Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance leadership role.

Strong commercial and strategic thinking.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

The ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
Experience within construction, infrastructure, or project-based industries would be advantageous but is not essential.
