Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role Join our Finance, Economics and Analytics team within Consulting, where we apply economic principles and financial and commercial insights across diverse industries. Our assignments involve working to solve complex technical problems as a team – this can include the development of financial models, business cases, feasibility studies, valuations, strategic options, investment strategy, transaction support, economic analysis and other analytical and commercial support.

Based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, you will be an integral part of our Consulting line of service, providing clients with robust analytical advice and insights.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Supporting consulting projects across various industries, delivering tailored research and analysis, financial and economic advice and sector insights.
  • Undertaking cost-benefit analysis, financial modelling and forecasting, value assessments, economic impact analysis and policy development.
  • Utilising economic and financial modelling, forecasting, and statistical data analysis to provide comprehensive insights.
  • Coaching, developing and supervising junior team members, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the corporate, government or consulting sectors, with a versatile approach to various industries and a focus on economic, financial and commercial analysis.
  • Experience in working on complex financial or economic projects.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • A degree in finance or economics is preferred; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • A highly analytical mind with a desire to understand clients’ businesses and the issues they face.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with well-developed business acumen and strategic insight.
  • High standards of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas.
