Mō te tūranga | About the role

Join Westpac’s Corporate & Structured Finance team as an Associate within our Syndications and Agency function, where you’ll play a critical role supporting complex corporate and institutional lending transactions.

Working closely with Relationship Managers, Loan Product specialists, and external market participants, you’ll contribute to the origination, structuring, execution and ongoing management of syndicated loan facilities. This is an excellent opportunity to build deep expertise in institutional banking and develop your career within a high-performing, specialist team.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Support the execution of syndicated and underwritten loan transactions, working across the full deal lifecycle

  • Assist in managing agency responsibilities where Westpac acts as Facility Agent and Security Trustee, including: Covenant compliance and reporting, Managing consent requests and general enquiries and supporting syndicate communications and information distribution

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including lenders, legal advisors, and corporate clients

  • Maintain and build relationships with corporate and institutional customers, banks and market participants

  • Contribute to the preparation of materials and insights to support client engagement and deal execution

  • Assist in managing workflows and timelines to ensure transactions are delivered efficiently and to a high standard

We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, detail-focused, and keen to grow their career in institutional banking. You will bring:

  • Experience in banking, finance, or a related front-office environment

  • An understanding (or strong interest) in corporate debt, loan structures and financial markets

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to learning

  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
