Ulrik Ross

 

Ulrik is responsible for all financing and capital market-related solutions for Public Sector clients globally. This includes services offered to High Grade and EM Clients ranging from Sovereigns, Supras, Agencies to Local Authorities and other Sovereign guaranteed entities. The product suite offered ranges from bonds and loans to more bespoke financing solutions, liability management and capital solutions needed in today's market environment. Ulrik is also the point person and driver behind the development of the sustainable financing franchise at HSBC across all client sectors and product groups within the capital financing division globally. He is also a member of the executive committee on green bond principles organised by the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA), and is the architect and global coordinator of the cooperation agreement HSBC recently signed with SEB/CICERO (the Center for International Climate and Environmental Research - Oslo).

Ulrik joined HSBC in 2007, prior to which he had a number of successful years at Nomura and Merrill Lynch in London, where he has been based since 2000. His achievements include building up the Northern European Capital Markets franchise, covering financial institutions, public sector and corporate entities. Ulrik started his career in 1991 in Denmark working for BG Bank (Benzon & Benzon Bankier A/S) in fixed income trading and sales roles, followed by a position in the treasury division at Finance for Danish Industry, where he was responsible for the fixed income asset management portfolio and was also a member of the risk management committee. In 1998 Ulrik joined the Nordic Investment Bank as a senior funding officer and was also a member of the finance committee.

Ulrik holds a Master of Finance Degree from Copenhagen Business School (HD-F).
