Sophie is the Head of Blockchain for the Global Innovation Labs, Commonwealth Bank Institutional Banking & Markets.
Sophie is responsible for Commonwealth Bank’s portfolio of blockchain projects and strategic direction; including blockchain prototype development and testing, integrating design thinking and lean startup principles into blockchain design, and collaborating closely with the Bank’s clients, business teams, fintechs and industry participants.
Sophie joined Commonwealth Bank in 2014 in the Bank’s Debt Capital Markets and Securitisation team, and has first-hand experience working with clients, investors and ratings agencies in advisory, structuring and execution of transactions in corporate, financial and asset-backed markets. Prior to Commonwealth Bank, Sophie held a number of roles in investment banking and capital markets in Australia and in Europe.
Sophie holds a Bachelor degree in Economics and Law (Hons) from the Australian National University. Sophie is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Senior Associate member of FINSIA.
