Hinerangi Raumati is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.   

Hinerangi is an experienced governor and executive with a focus on post settlement iwi entities and Maori commercial entities.  Hinerangi has a particular interest in driving Maori economic development and creating models of governance that capture tikanga and Te Ao Maori as an appropriate lens for doing business in Aotearoa.  

She is the current chair of Tainui Group Holdings Ltd and the iwi investment company of Ngati Mutunga.  Hinerangi is on the board of Genesis Energy Ltd, the Guardians of the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, Pouarua Farms LP and the Executive Committee of Waikato Tainui iwi.  Hinerangi also Chairs the Turangawaewae Marae Trust. 

Hinerangi has served on the boards of many businesses including the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Watercare, Public Trust, Trust Waikato, Te Kiwai Maui (Ngaruahine Iwi Investment entity), Sealord, the Maori Fisheries Commission (Te Ohu Kaimoana) and was a founding member of Te Puia Tapapa a pan iwi private equity fund.  Hinerangi retired from Taranaki Iwi Holdings Ltd in December 2024. 

Hinerangi retired after 10 years as Chair of Parininihi ki Waitotara Inc. and has also been chair of Moana NZ and Te Kiwai Maui GP. 

Hinerangi was a member of the Tax Working Group in 2018. Hinerangi was awarded the Maori Woman Business Leader of the year in 2016, a distinguished alumni award from the University of Waikato in 2022, the INFINZ Maori leadership in Finance award and the E Hika Award from the Maori Accountants Association in 2024.  In 2025 Hinerangi was inducted in to the NZ Business Hall of Fame for her contribution to business.  Her iwi are Waikato and Ngati Mutunga.
