Nicola Swan Partner
Nicola is a Wellington-based litigation and dispute resolution partner at Chapman Tripp, with particular expertise in climate risk. She leads the firm’s international law and international arbitration practices, and is a member of the firm’s consulting group, CT Consulting. Nicola is recognised for her expertise in climate change risk management and regularly advises board of directors and executive teams on climate change regulatory, reputational and litigation risk and ESG risk management. In conjunction with The Aotearoa Circle, Nicola has co-authored several published legal opinions on climate change legal obligations for directors, fund managers and trustees. Nicola advises developing states at the UNFCCC negotiations and was previously a negotiator for New Zealand. Nicola was recognised as one of the most influential lawyers of 2021 by NZ Lawyer and as a rising star by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021. |
