Hunter Douglas Climate Scientist, PwC Hunter is a PhD candidate at Victoria University of Wellington Te Herenga Waka, where he studies the emergence of climate change in the Southern Hemisphere. Passionate about addressing significant challenges like climate change, managing natural resources, and effectively communicating science to a wide audience, Hunter brings a comprehensive approach to his work. Originally from Wellington, New Zealand, Hunter holds engineering degrees from Duke University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. His diverse academic background is enhanced by professional experience as an environmental engineer and a strong commitment to science education. He has volunteered in various science outreach programmes, including Duke University’s Physics Outreach Program, the Thinkery in Austin, Texas, the Cambridge Science Festival in Massachusetts, and Engineering New Zealand’s Wonder Project. Beyond his academic and professional endeavours, Hunter is an avid rock climber, tramper, vinyl collector, and Nintendo enthusiast, always seeking ways to integrate these passions with his love for science communication.
