Ben CoulterPartner, Actuarial & Risk Modelling
Ben leads PwC New Zealand’s Actuarial & Risk Modelling practice. He is an experienced professional that has worked with a range of private and public sector entities across New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia. He is passionate about making financial sense of an uncertain future and communicating solutions to complex problems in a clear and easy way to understand. As a qualified actuary with 20+ years’ experience, he leads a team that uses data, mathematics, statistics, and risk modelling techniques to help clients understand what may lie over the business horizon, then value and manage any financial and non-financial risks. He has primarily worked with insurance companies to help them value liabilities, price products and manage capital. This includes quantifying the impact of physical and transition risk in respect of climate change as it also involves estimating the financial impact of uncertain climate-related events, which is very similar to how you would estimate liabilities for an insurance company. Ben is a Fellow of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries. |
