Abby Foote
Professional Director

Abby is a professional director with over 12 years' governance experience, including publicly listed and Crown companies. With qualifications in both law and accounting, Abby's career has covered both disciplines, focusing on corporate finance, treasury and commercial transactions.

Abby is Chair of Z Energy, and currently serves on the boards of TVNZ, Sanford Limited and Freightways Limited. Abby's previous governance roles include Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Transpower New Zealand, Livestock Improvement Corporation (LIC) and the New Zealand Local Government Funding Agency (LGFA).



Adrian Orr
Governor, Reserve Bank New Zealand

Adrian Orr was appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in March 2018.

Previously, Adrian was Chief Executive Officer at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund. During his time there he won many awards including the Deloitte IPANZ Improving Performance through Leadership Excellence award in 2016, and Asian Investor's Individual Contribution to Institutional Investment Award in 2017. Andrew Grant currently based in Auckland, leads McKinsey & Company's Global Public Sector Practice. He has been a member of McKinsey's Global Board for 12 years and is currently Chairman of the Firm's Knowledge and Capability Committee.

Angela Mentis was appointed CEO and Managing Director of Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) in January 2018. She has been a Director on the BNZ Board since December 2016. Angela has extensive business, retail and institutional banking and wealth management experience, spanning more than 29 years. Angela was previously Chief Customer Officer - Business and Private Banking with BNZ's parent company, National Australia Bank (NAB), a position she held from August 2016. Carl Tannenbaum is the Chief Economist for The Northern Trust. In this role, Mr. Tannenbaum briefs clients and colleagues on the economy and business conditions, prepares the bank's official economic outlook and participates in forecast surveys. He is a member of the bank's investment policy committee, its capital committee, and its asset/liability management committee.

David joined Westpac in February 1999 to head the Debt Capital Markets group in New Zealand. He was appointed Head of Westpac Institutional Bank New Zealand in January 2004 and in 2009, he was also appointed as GM for Private, Wealth and Insurance. In 2012 David transferred to New York as a Head of the Americas for the Westpac Banking Corporation. Dr Oliver Hartwich

Dr Oliver Hartwich is the Executive Director of The New Zealand Initiative (www.nzinitiative.org.nz). Before joining the Initiative, he was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney, the Chief Economist at Policy Exchange in London, and an advisor in the UK House of Lords.

Dr Hartwich holds a Master's degree in Economics and Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Law from Bochum University in Germany. His articles have been published by major newspapers in Germany, Britain, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.

Rob Everett
Chief Executive, Financial Markets Authority

Rob has been Chief Executive of the FMA since February 2014. After working as a capital markets lawyer at international law firm Allen & Overy, Rob spent 17 years at Merrill Lynch in London, Hong Kong and New York in a variety of senior roles (including General Counsel and COO for Europe, Middle East & Africa). He also spent a year as a director at regulatory consultants Promontory before moving to New Zealand at the end of 2013.

Rob holds a law degree and Master of Arts in Law from Cambridge University.



Dr Rod Carr
Chairperson

Dr Carr has extensive experience in both public and private sector governance and leadership. He served as Chair and non-executive director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and served as Deputy Governor and for a time Acting Governor of the Bank.

Dr Carr was the founding Chair of the National Infrastructure Advisory Board and for over a decade was a non-executive director of the Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce. He led the University of Canterbury as Vice Chancellor for ten years, and holds a PhD in Insurance and Risk Management, an MA in Applied Economics and Managerial Science, an MBA in Money and Finance and honours degrees in law and economics.

Sharon Zollner
Chief Economist, ANZ NZ

Sharon joined the Economics team in 2010 and became Chief Economist in late 2017. She started her career as a macroeconomist at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in 1998, and has also worked at the Central Bank of Norway. Sharon created the Truckometer in 2012.

She has a particular interest in Big Data and machine learning and its potential applications in macroeconomics.
